CALGARY SELECTS 36 ... MISSOURI KNIGHT TRAIN 6

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select Team concluded play on Sunday at the Midwest Junior Football Classic in St. Louis, Missouri, with an impressive 36-6 victory over the Missouri Knight Train. The win gave the Selects the Tournament Championship in their age grouping.
Scoring for Calgary were Rosen Brenya (Mavericks), on a 70 yard kickoff return, Andre Skinner (Cowboys) with a 2 yd run, Steven Lumbala (Golden Hawks) on an 18 yard run, Jeff Hassler (Eagles) with a 53 yard scamper and Brenya again from 11 yards out. Kevan Hafichuk (Hilltoppers) added three converts (kicked converts are worth 2 points).
Congratulations to the boys for winning the Championship at the 2005 MJFC. They have had an incredible experience they can carry with them throughout their lives. Thank you very much to the Calgary media for all your coverage throughout the year. We hope to see everyone at Shouldice Park on Wednesday August 30th to kick off our 2006 campaign.

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select Team continued it's winning ways on Saturday at the Midwest Junior Football Classic, taking place in St. Louis, Missouri. On a warm 60F (15C) day, the Selects defeated the Jefferson County Youth Association (JCYA) Warriors 32-12 in the Division Semi-Final. The Warriors are from the St Louis area and prior to today they went undefeated in their league play and won their league's Super Bowl Championship.
Scoring for Calgary were Jake Harty (Stampeders) on a 40 yard run, Steven Lumbala (Golden Hawks) with a 5 yd run, Jeff Hassler (Eagles) an 80 yd scamper, and Jeremy Long (Mavericks) from 2 yards out. Kevan Hafichuk (Hilltoppers) added four converts (kicked converts are worth 2 points).
The Selects now move on to their Division Championship, taking place on Sunday.

The Calgary Bantam Football Association's Select team kicked off their Midwest Junior Football Classic experience in fine style in St. Louis, Missouri with a 28-6 victory over the Chicago Wolfpack on a chilly 38F (3C) day. It was an impressive win for the Calgary squad as the Wolfpack had gone through their entire season undefeated and won the City Championship in their division. Adding to the challenge for the Selects is the fact that all their tournament games will be played using full American rules.
Scoring for Calgary was Chris van Keulen (Lions) on a 10 yd pass from Jeremy Long (Mavericks), Andre Skinner (Cowboys) with a 5 yd run, Jeff Hassler (Eagles) on a 32 yd scamper, and Jeremy Long from 15 yards out. Kevan Hafichuk (Hilltoppers) added a pair of 2 point converts.
The Selects now move on to their Division Semi-Final taking place on Saturday against a St. Louis area team.
