CALGARY SELECTS 14The Calgary Bantam Football Associations Select team began tournament play on Thursday at the 2007 Pilgrim Bowl with a 19-14 defeat at the hands of the Belleville Little Knights. This year marks the tenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.
Scoring two touchdowns for Calgary was Xavier Savery (Hilltoppers), a one yard effort in the second quarter followed by a ten yard reception from quarterback Shawn Anderson (Colts) in the third. Jason Orey (Bulldogs) added one convert. Reshawn Bean had two touchdowns for the Little Knights.
The Selects will now take on the Parkrock All-Stars at 12:00 pm CST on Friday and will wrap up the tournament against the St. Louis City Rams on Sunday.

PARKROCK ALL-STARS 22The Calgary Bantam Football Associations Select team continued play on Friday at the 2007 Pilgrim Bowl with a 26-22 come from behind victory over the Parkrock All-Stars. This year marks the tenth appearance for the Calgary squad at the annual competition played under full American rules.
Xavier Savery (Hilltoppers) tallied two touchdowns for Calgary, a 65 yard run and a 30 yard scamper, both in the second quarter. defensive lineman Tyler Scott (Hilltoppers) then intercepted a screen pass and took the ball ten yards for another score. With five minutes remaining and the Selects trailing 22-20, Alex Kipp (Falcons) punched it in from 4 yards out for the winning score. Jason Orey (Bulldogs) added one convert.
The Selects wrap up their tournament action on Sunday at 12:00 pm CST against the St. Louis City Rams.
CALGARY SELECTS 40 ...
ST. LOUIS CITY REC RAMS 12The Calgary Bantam Football Associations Select team concluded play on Sunday at the 2007 Pilgrim Bowl with a convincing 40-12 victory over the St. Louis City Rec Rams.
Quarterback Shawn Anderson (Colts) had a big game for Calgary, connecting on scoring strikes of 22 yards to Nikolas Petros (Hilltoppers) and 20 yards to Brandon Fuchs (Storm). Also scoring touchdowns for the Selects was Damjan Miskin (Hilltoppers) with touchdown runs of 8 and 15 yards, Braydon Collins (Wildcats) on a 2 yard plunge and Xavier Savery (Hilltoppers) with a 40 yard gallop. Miskin added two converts.
The Calgary squad finished its tenth appearance in the tournament with a 2-1 record. The travelling Selects have compiled an impressive 26-5-1 record over that time period.
