Overview
The Calgary Bantam Football Association is a full contact
tackle football league for youth's aged 13 to 15 years.
The league is comprised of 14 teams, 9of which are in
Calgary and 5which encompass the surrounding communities. The rural teams
are based in Airdrie, Chestermere, Okotoks, Cochrane and Canmore. All
teams play their games at Shouldice Park in northwest Calgary.
Sponsorship
Each team is sponsored in part by local businesses and
community service organizations. In the year 2000, approximately 500 youth
will benefit from the sportsmanship, teamwork, exercise and leadership
skills that the game of football teaches.

Equipment and Financing
To
maintain a degree of equality amongst the teams as well as to guarantee
that each player receives the safest and highest quality equipment possible
the Association buys, controls and maintains 600 sets of equipment at
an approximate cost of $400 to equip each player.
Financing for the league is provided through receipts
from the 50/50 draw at Calgary Stampeders
home games which is shared with the Calgary Colts junior football program.
Assistance is also provided through team sponsors and game day gate donations
at Shouldice Park.
League Play
The regular season starts
the last week of August at Shouldice Park and runs until the City Championship
during the first week of November. This is followed by provincial playoffs,
select team tryouts and our annual all-star trip to the United States
.Games are played on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 3:30PM as
well as occasional mid-week evening games.

Calgary Bantam Football Forms

Each Bantam team holds their own
registration drive in the spring. For registration information call the
CBFA Hotline at 291-4443 during business hours or contact yor area team
directly.
The CBFA is open to 13 to 15 year olds. The player cannot
be entering grade 10 in their playing season. As well their 16th birthday
must not fall on or before December 31 of the playing year.
